Who We Are

The Vancouver Island Kidney Patients’ Association (VIKPA) is a 100% volunteer-run, non-profit society that has supported renal patients and their families for over 40 years. We advocate for those affected by kidney disease across Vancouver Island, offering encouragement and funding for research into all aspects of kidney health. Our mission is to provide vital support to patients at every stage of their journey, helping them face the challenges of kidney disease with greater ease and confidence.

What Do We Do?

In partnership with the Kidney Care Clinic and dialysis units across Vancouver Island, VIKPA steps in to provide the extra assistance that kidney patients and their families need. Whether it’s medical equipment, therapeutic devices, or everyday comforts, we aim to enhance the quality of care and life for renal patients. Over the past four decades, we’ve donated more than $500,000 in essential items such as medical devices, student bursaries, grocery gift cards, and entertainment systems for dialysis centers. Our work is made possible thanks to the generous donations from our community.

How Can We Help?

Our goal is to be the trusted source of support for all renal patients and their families on Vancouver Island. We strive to meet the essential needs of the kidney patient community by providing resources, advocacy, and assistance. Let us know how we can help you or your loved ones on the journey through kidney disease.
